‘Raise A Question’—Oxfordians Stand First

The Oxford School wins the overall champions trophy of ‘Raise a Question’ organized by Sahridhaya as part of its 7th year celebration. 60 schools participated in the campaign to raise questions to express their awareness on social and environmental issues in the society. It was a four week campaign where 7 selected schools got into the second round to showcase their student’s ideas, views and concepts on how to make a change in our society. Each school team had 15 members and 2 accompanying teachers. The campaign strictly followed green protocol. First 3 weeks they conducted seminars, surveys, debates, short film competitions, versification, drawing competition, extempore, speech, storytelling, essay writing, and questionnaire making contests . Six schools are shortlisted to compete in the campaign final round which included The Oxford School, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vazhuthacaurd, Govt. Model School, Sarvodaya Central School, St.Jude School, and SMV School.

The Oxford School, Trivandrum secured many prizes which includes first place in English Versification by Amina Jubair -12AB, First place in Story telling by Saeed Jubair – 4B , Second place for Drawing Competition by Madhav Krishna – 7B. They showcased outstanding performance in all the above mentioned items. The Oxford School effectively participated by performing recitation, western guitar composition, 5 min on the spot drawing, short drama (10 min ) and folk song with live orchestra. The 20 min. cultural treat was really appreciated by the judges. Mr. Prasanth Narayanan (Theatre Activist, Chairman-Kalam) and Smt. Kalasavithri (Poet, Critic, Managing-Director-Kalam) were the chief guests for the closing ceremony. The Oxford School Trivandrum won the first position in ”Raise a Question Campaign 2019”.
